About Standards and Assessment

In the 2014-15 school year, the current Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program (TCAP) tests in math and English language arts for grades 3-11, will continue. Additionally, students in grades 3-11 will take an online writing assessment.

Supports for Students

  • Response to Instruction and Intervention (RTI)
    The Tennessee Department of Education is committed to helping all children succeed. There are many ways to help children who are struggling to learn and who need additional supports to be successful. Response to Instruction and Intervention (RTI²) is one form of support.

    Resources and information on how the implementation of the standards and transition to assessments written to the standards will impact students with disabilities and English language learners.
