Common Core Summer Courses - Math and ELA/Literacy

The Tennessee Department of Education announces its Common Core State Standards training for Summer 2013, focusing on Math, ELA and Literacy (including Science, Social Studies/History and CTE).  These trainings are designed to support the transition to full implementation of Common Core State Standards during the 2013-2014 school year.  Similar to the initial 3-8 math training in 2012, the training will focus on deepening teacher content knowledge and information about research-based instructional strategies to support student readiness for post-secondary and career success and the PARCC assessments.

Common Core Summer Course - K-3 Reading for School Leaders

The Tennessee Department of Education is offering a school leader track of the K-3 Common Core State Standard reading training. This training will focus on preparing principals, assistant principals, and district supervisors to support K-3 reading instruction under the Common Core State Standards.

Common Core Summer Course - K-3 Reading for Higher Education

The Tennessee Department of Education is offering a school leader track of the K-3 Common Core State Standard reading training. This training will focus on preparing education professionals from institutions of higher education to support K-3 reading instruction under the Common Core State Standards.

TN-ELDS Summer Trainings

The Tennessee Department of Education announces its Revised Tennessee Early Learning Developmental Standards (TN-ELDS) training for Summer 2013, focusing on math, language and literacy. These trainings are designed to support the transition to full implementation of the TN-ELDS during the 2013-2014 school year. The training will build on the initial training offered last fall and winter by deepening teacher content knowledge and information about research-based instructional strategies to support student learning and readiness for K-12, as well as post-secondary education.
